A Special Introduction to the Foundation Programme
Starting 16th January to 6th March 2019 Wednesday 7 pm to 9.15 pm
The Foundation Programme is a study and meditation programme designed to deepen our understanding and experience of Buddhism. It involves systematic study and contemplation of any or all of six essential Mahayana Buddhist scriptures and their commentaries by Geshe Kelsang Gyatso.
Over the introductory eight week course, we will study part of Modern Buddhism a special presentation of Buddha’s teachings on compassion and wisdom.
Participation in the foundation programme allows us to increase our personal insight and experience of Dharma. Have the opportunity to discuss and investigate more fully and come to deeper conclusions. Get support and friendship from like-minded people and gain the ability to integrate Buddha’s instructions into busy modern daily life. By making a commitment to the course, students are able to give their spiritual life the time and attention it deserves.
The Foundation Programme is taught by the resident teacher, Kelsang Opel who has been studying Kadampa Buddhism for many years and is known for her clear teaching style and insight.
After the eight-week course participants have the opportunity to join the actual foundation programme beginning the 20th of March with the text Eight Steps to Happiness.
